Applications for Life Company has released Box Shot 3D 3.3.2, a 3D ratracying rendering utility that the company says enables you to render software boxes, book covers, magazines, cans bottles, mugs, and other objects into 3D objects. The new version enables you to add more objcts to a scene as well as fixes batch rendering issues that are present in older versions.

It features a real time preview capability and supports more than 50 shapes, of which many can be custom configured. The software also supports the importing of custom 3D Studio (3DS) files for those shapes currently not supported. Box Shot 3D is priced at $80 and runs on both Macintosh and Windows-based computers.

Wacom Introduces Bamboo Stylus for iPad 2

Wacom today announced that it will release its Bamboo stylus for the iPad 2 in mid May. The black and silver stylus, designed to match the iPad 2′s color will be built of textured metal and will feature a 25 percent narrower tip (6mm versus 8mm) than other similar devices on the market. It will offer support for applications that work better with a pointing device than that of touch. The Bamboo Stylus will retail for $$29.99.

Dell today introduced a 30-inch display targeted at creative users that sports 2560 x 1600 resolution and incorporates PremierColor technology, a feature the company says will enable the monitor to output consistent and accurate color. The Dell UltraSharp U3011, priced at $1,499 is targeted at those who require visually superior color output and viewing capabilities, including those working in desktop publishing, animation, CAD/CAM, graphic design, and medical technology.
